Immigration Evaluation FREE Consultation
Clear guidance on immigration psychological evaluations and next steps.
Service Description
An immigration psychological evaluation is not required for every immigration case. However, for many humanitarian and waiver-based petitions, it plays a critical role in strengthening an application by documenting trauma, emotional distress, or extreme hardship. Immigration psychological evaluations are conducted by a qualified mental health professional and provide clinical documentation that helps immigration officials understand the psychological impact of a person’s experiences or circumstances. These evaluations translate complex emotional and mental health factors into clear, professional evidence that supports eligibility when hardship or trauma is a central element of the case. Evaluations are often required or highly beneficial in cases such as asylum and refugee petitions, where past persecution or fear of future persecution must be documented. They are commonly used for Extreme Hardship Waivers, including I-601 and I-601A petitions, to demonstrate the emotional, psychological, or relational impact on qualifying U.S. family members. Evaluations also support VAWA self-petitions by documenting the psychological effects of domestic abuse, as well as U-Visas and T-Visas for victims of crimes or human trafficking. In some cases, evaluations are used for citizenship exam waivers, including N-648 requests, or for cancellation of removal proceedings where extreme hardship must be clearly established. These evaluations may include clinical interviews, standardized screening tools, and a detailed written report outlining findings relevant to the immigration petition. This Immigration Evaluation Consultation is a brief, informational call designed to help determine whether a psychological evaluation may be appropriate for your situation. During this call, a licensed mental health professional will explain how evaluations are typically used, review the general nature of your case, and outline what the evaluation process involves if you choose to proceed. This consultation is not a psychological evaluation and does not include diagnosis, treatment, or legal advice. No formal assessment is conducted during this call. If your immigration case depends on demonstrating significant emotional distress, trauma, or hardship, a specialized immigration psychological evaluation can be an important step toward building a stronger application.
